For example Truman had a phobia of water, what he thought many didn’t know was a common fact to the rest of the viewing world. Since the beginning of his birth once again rule number 3 was broken, all the information ever retrieved of Truman has been displayed on national television.

The 4th and final rule is that the experimenter must take into account of the mental and physical health of a patient. Truman developed a phobia of water from the beginning of his life due to the director (experimenter) killing of his father in a boating accident that involved horrid weather conditions. The director took into account of the mental damage this would take on Truman and used it to help him run his show (experiment). The physical health of Truman was neither taken into consideration toward the end of the film. This is during the time Truman is trying to escape from the place he lives and sail to Fiji but is being slowed down by man made storm weather on the sea that almost pulls Truman to the brink of death.

The Truman Show, indeed was an experiment turned tv show that Truman was unaware of. This whole time of his life he was experimented on and wasn’t given the rights he possesses with the 4 rules of the APA’s general research. Thankfully Truman had the wits to outsmart the world and flee from the scene.
