The Pyramid at Chichen Itza

It is one of the main archaeological sites of the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico, located in the municipality of Tinum, in the State from Yucatan.

The Temple of Kukulkán or Pyramid at Chichen Itza (also known as "The Castle" was built in the 12th century AD by the Maya and is a building that represents the greatness of the Mayan Culture, its technological advances, political and Its religious feel.This pyramid has stairs on its four sides and the main one is topped by serpent heads representing the god Kukulkan (feathered Snake), equivalent to the Quetzalcoatl for the Aztecas.The alignment of the pyramid during the equinoxes and solstices every year Allows you to observe the solar rays on the staircase creates a play of light and shadow in the alfarda, which gives the feeling of descent of the feathered serpent or Kukulkan, God to whom the temple is dedicated.

On July 7, 2007 the pyramid was recognized as one of the seven wonders of the modern world.

I chose to talk about the pyramid because I have always wanted to go to Cancun and Chichen Itza is near there, apart if I traveled to Cancun I would pay a tour and usually in most of the tour packages the itineraries include the visit to the pyramid.

If you want to have fun, to learn and to hike, you should visit the pyramid at Chichen Itza, without losing the incredible night and light show in the archaeological zone.

If you are interesting to know more of the pyramid de Chichen Itza’s history you can talk with a person that lives in Tinum Yucatan’s municipality, who tells you many interesting things about the pyramid.

In the dark, you will participate in an experience of another world overlooking the main pyramid of Kukulkan (The Castle) with the backdrop of music and spectacular light effects; you will enjoy a powerful narrative drama through intensely projected images of the pyramid and nearby structures.

I am very excited about my next vacation that I have waited for a long time, but I am also nervous because my dream will come true because I will visit one of the most important archaeological sites in Yucatan.

When I am in the area, the first thing I will do is take many photos of the pyramid and its surroundings and also take pictures of the place, another thing I will do is observe the equinox of the spring and then appreciate the night show of the area and when I stay in the pyramid I will also visit other temples of Chichen Itza.

I will visit the pyramid with my parents, my sisters and my nephews.
