She impacted the world with three volumes of history called, A History of the Rise, Progress, and the Termination of the American Revolution. Written over twenty-five years her three volumes, Ottis Warren a brilliant and important female intervention in a conventionally masculine field of literature. She was uniquely positioned to experience events leading up to the Revolution. She knew the leaders who took part in the various military campaigns. Her satires and poetry was the issue of women as writers and revolutionary activists. Her Greek and Roman politics lend the plays a tone that later critics found “grandiose,” their savage satire was an effective propaganda.

Her later works, such as "Poems, Dramatic and Miscellaneous" and "History of the American Revolution," were influenced by her first-hand experiences with the war. Most of her work, were directed more toward Americans than to the British. The plays were part of the propaganda campaign that helped solidify opposition to the British soldiers. Mercy Otis Warren recognized that she was an unusual woman in her era. It was rare that a woman would be as well educated as she was, and even more unlikely that a woman would understand and take part in the world political. In many ways, Warren struggled with her identity as an intellectual woman in an age of male domination.

A valuable lesson that many people can learn from Ottis Warren is that oppression breeds resistance. She was born into an era where women did not have the same amount of equality as me. With the education she pursued, she fought for what she believed in by actively participating in many different revolutions thus creating a name for not only for herself but voices for all women. Her actions can teach people to fight for what they believe in no matter who they are. Throughout all of her years as an active revolutionist Ottis Warren portrayed many different traits. The first is courage, she knew that women were not suppose to involved with political affairs and writing, yet she had the voice and courage to speak up and make an impact for women to stand up together and fight for the equality themselves. Her confidence gave others confidence to stand up with Ottis Warren and make a positive change. Another characteristic was her willingness to get things done. Ever since she was young she was willing to learn without going to school, she was willing to sacrifice her freedom. Her motivation to keep on going was endless, she was willing to work for what she believed in and that was what many women at that time did not want to do. She was dedicated to make a change and she did. She showed people that men were not the only ones who could join political parties or write book. She showed women also had the ability to pursue their dreams and become whatever they wanted as long as they work for it.

Mercy Ottis Warren because she worked for everything she got, she didn’t go to school so she motivated herself to get some education with her brothers and even after that Ottis Warren became a successful political writer. Even though at that time women were labeled as housewives she stood up for herself and fought for what she wanted to do. Ottis Warren is too look upto because even today many people do not fight for what they believe in, if you fight for what you believe in then maybe you could also make a change like Ottis Warren did. Her success was great overall by over achieving in things that women were not suppose to be doing.
