said: "Even if you are not fully committed to a Torah life, do something. Begin with a mitzvah, any mitzvah, its value will not be diminished by the fact that there are others that you are not prepared to do". That is why the shluchim go out and try getting people to put on tefillin, and other mitzvot like that. A mitzvah tank is a vehicle used by Chabad members involved in outreach as a mobile educational and outreach center. Mitzvah tanks are usually used for the Mitzvah campaigns. Mitzvah tanks have been commonplace on the streets of New York City since 1974. Today, they are used all over the globe, any place where Chabad is active.
Menachem Mendel Schneerson was born on April 5, 1902. Schneerson’s published teachings fill more than 300 volumes and he is noted for his contributions to Jewish continuity and religious thought, as well as his wide-ranging contributions to traditional Torah scholarship. He is recognized as the pioneer of Jewish outreach. He was so popular that in 1978, the U.S. Congress asked President Carter to designate Schneerson’s birthday as the national Education Day U.S.A.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe was an extremely amazing man. I had the privilege to interview someone who visited the Rebbe. This couple has been married for seven years, but as a result of infertility they were not able to have any kids. They tried in vitro-fertilization and other ways to try to get pregnant, but nothing worked. They stayed on line for hours, and then they finally got to talk to the Rebbe. The Rebbe gave them a special blessing. It made the couple feel like a million bucks. They now currently have three kids.
I have had the privilege to go daven at the Rebbe’s grave. There you write a note to the Rebbe, and daven at the Kever (grave). There was a huge line to get into the Kever, because everyone wanted the zechut of davening at the Rebbe’s grave.
