Thirdly, he also played in six world series but ended up only winning one of them in 1955. Sadly at 37 he decided to retire from the sport he loved. But after that he ended up being part of an American coffee company and ended up being the vice president of the corporation. He was also the first African - American to be vice president of a major American corporation. After that, he was selected to be in baseball hall of fame and is till this day. Also, he was the co-founder of Freedom National bank. As people actually saw who he really was and didn’t just judge because of his color they learned to appreciate him and learned to love him and not just him but the black people in general.

Finally, Jackie Robinson was a big part of civil rights movement. He showed the white race that black people are humans too and that they can be successful if you give them a chance. He changed a lot of things for black people back then. But he definitely took a beating from it. But in the end it was all worth it. He showed the white race that black people aren’t that bad. He was a role model and a leader to everyone, white or black. He is one of the most known athletes and now is loved by everyone. They actually have a day in the MLB where all the players in the whole league wear the number 42 to honour him and to remember the legacy he brang to the sport of baseball. He sadly died at the age 53, of an heart attack on October 24, 1972 in Connecticut. He will always be remembered as a hero and one of the best baseball players that lived to play the game.
