Finally, tablets have been proven to be more accessible than textbooks for people of all ages including kids. Maneuverability that is proven to surpass the table of contexts in a textbook apparently. In California’s Riverside Unified School District, students were split into groups to experiment how tablets effect education compared to students who used Algebra 1 Textbooks. The scores concluded that “students using the iPad scored twenty percent more on the test than those who used textbooks” (Rock). Remember that these students were all using the same book, just in different formats which further proves that tablets are more easy to use and also attracts student interests more than printed books. Students who have an disorder, student that aren’t fluent with English, and even students who are just plain shy can express themselves more professionally on tablets. “More than 20,000 educational apps can be held on an iPad alone” (Reiss). These apps include HiNative, which helps foreign students learn new languages and assists pronunciation and Microsoft Outlook, which is a program that quiet students can use for emailing their teachers on questions and thoughts they didn’t get to share during class. All these resources can help students feel like they’re a part of the community and can reduce stress released form social anxiety. A generation where kids of any condition can learn without feeling left behind.
In conclusion, K-12 schools should switch to tablets because it outweighs textbooks in terms of the amount of content it provides for students, the improvement of physical performance, the price it saves in the long run and it will help students get prepared for a future of technology. Students will be able to find more job opportunities that pay well if they are skilled with electronics. Parents will not need to worry about their children having to carry stacks of textbooks with their new light weighted devices. Being Social is critical in obtaining all the information a teacher offers yet many still struggle which is why the tablet’s applications will make learning easier. And finally, when discussing about the price these districts risk, not only money is considered, but the environment as well and tablets will help achieve this perfect scenario. In order to achieve this dream, the government must listen to what students and teachers have been asking for years, to adopt tablets into the family.
