and confused, they try to explain, but nobody can, wanted what I thought was normal”

(verse 3). We are given the facts of what he needs to except and we get a slight glimpse of hope when he says “what I though was normal”. The anecdote continues with the acceptance of his mother’s choice, “I came around, happiness I see’s what you may have found, I wanna see you smile not breaking down” (verse 3). the listener G’s character, but also shows the listener that it is important to change and be accepting of new things.

The Chorus of the song, “Everything Will Be Okay” tells the listener that even through the toughest changes and life experiences everything will be okay in the end. This song tells the

life story of Gerald Gillium, his mother, her lover Melissa, and his brother. The listener is given dramatic anecdotes that make us feel for these characters and do an excellent job in reflecting the theme of sacrifice and acceptance.
