i have been given and make the best of what i have been given.
As humans we are given the right to free will, at least here in America we are. What we choose to do with it determines who we are and what we can do to benefit society as a whole. Since my choice was to join the United States Marine Corps i am obligated to follow all orders and regulations that have been set for me and my fellow marines. I have come to realize that even though this lifestyle is tough, it is only temporary. In three years i will move on to do bigger and greater things, but until then i shall carry out all my duties as a Marine, no matter how gruesome. I’m not the only free spirit in the Marine Corps. There are plenty of other young Lance Corporals who hate their lives just as much, if not more than I do. I guess the thing i need to continue to learn is that it’s ok to hate your life sometimes. Even if i wasn’t a Marine i’m sure i would be going through hard times, just from a different perspective. Maybe school or working in the civilian sector. Regardless, life wouldn’t be perfect regardless of where in life i would be.
In conclusion, I have explained why dereliction of duty provides a negative impact on a persona and his/her surroundings. I’ve discussed the responses of neglecting duties both in and out of the military and explained how the world wouldn’t be nearly as great as it is without the perseverance of its patrons. Life isn’t easy nor was it meant to be. Perseverance is the true test of a man’s willpower and it defines his/her character. Giving up on a job, or simply neglecting one’s duties is a flaw of character and should not be tolerated, no matter who a person is or what they do.
