The 5D mark III out ranks the D4 with its higher megapixel sensor and better low-light performance and it still cost less than the D4. The 5D mark III also has creamed Nikon in terms of video performance. It was the capability to record video in 1080p at 30fps, the first to record Full HD video. It was the only camera that does not have “moiré, rolling shutter, aliasing, jitter, or any other noticeable artifact and the tonal range looks good, and there's far less color noise in low-light video than in the Nikon D800” (Easts, “5D Mark III review”). In video “moiré, rolling shutter, aliasing, jitter, and noticeable artifact” are not acceptable for professional video work. According to a semi-pro videographer in an interview “The 5D mark III has improved the quality of my work as a semi-pro videographer, by providing smooth and seamless video quality in camera with out too much post processing” (Boonyindee, personal interview). This camera could only be summarized as “Impressive and fun” (East, Layer magazine 22). The innovations that Canon has put into their cameras is revolutionary and it is still consumer friendly. For a big company Canon has gave consumers and professionals what they need in a camera at a decent price point.
In Conclusion, Canon DSLRs are considered to be lavished with new technology, and photographers/videographers with a budget can still afford such camera, and still retain the functions of those in professional camera. Canon tries to make photography affordable and their equipment are long lasting. Professionals and amateurs that stay loyal to the brand will always appreciate what Canon is trying to do to make their product better.
