ready for their attack. This news was announced all over the world. It caught worldwide attention because it was recorded and photographed. This caused the british to be completely humiliated and it was the beginning of india finally having its independence.

After india was finally granted its independence there was effects to these actions. Effects such as violence between the hindus and muslims. Riots broke out between the hindus and muslims because the british did not know which people in india would take power. The indian national congress had the Hindu and muslim leave decide to divide india which resulted in East pakistand and West pakistan. Since the two groups had india split the people were only given one month to decide where they are going to live and move there. As people began to move, more violence broke out. Leads to violence at boarding crossing with mass movements of people. Another reason for the violence was because there was a muslim populaton but a hindu ruler. A bloody fight broke out and the eastern part won its independence becoming a new nation called bangladesh. Gandhi also had a contribution to all the violence. He tried to stop it by fasting. He went for days without eating almost killing himself because of his organs shutting down. The people noticed this and ended the violence but tensions still exist today.

conclusion

Gandhis place in history is secure of his greatness and had made India ungovernable for the British. Even though he had to do so as such a tricky way he succeeded and it was a very intelligent move. Most people would result straight to violence but he did not. Even though the british caused the even of the amritsar massacre taking away lives and wounding people he did not fight back. he used his idea of the salt march to embarrass the british and have it spread worldwide in which it did. After gaining independence there were several riots between the people of india. hindus and muslims. Gandhi tried to fix it by fasting but he considered himself a failure. But yet today he is one of the greatest and smartest leaders in history.
