Individuals Differences
According to the interview report, the working environment at Eye Gallery Optical is virtuous. The multi culture has been incorporated well to the point where each unique individual can perform their best. Manager knows about each member’s characteristics and tend to put them in their own play without too much restrictions. Guy Kawasaki mentions that that many people would rather see a company fail than thrive without them. He advises that we must begin to move past this and to see the value that different perceptions and values can bring to a company, and the goal of any individual should be to make the organization that one works for stronger and more dynamic (Understanding People at Work, n.a.).
In this area, Diana has been doing great finding each member’s uniqueness and making the best use of them. Staff has been loyal and are willing to spend time and dedicate to work. Special tasks will be assigned to those who have multi language advantage, like helping clients who speak only Chinese. And also the team is advised to explain the process for prescription glasses, which is not complicated, to let them have a peace in mind.
Conclusion
Eye Gallery Optical has been on the right track in terms of people management and sales. The study of organizational behavior is necessary so that we can determine the weakness and avoid them in the future. Overall, more focus can be put on the sales side due to the nature of the business. Without sales, the aim can’t be accomplished. The manager should be more dedicated into the way to best motivate the whole team to generate their most potential. Once that is met, that would be a huge step towards success.
