Government to Citizens (G2C) is when the relationship is between federal organizations and citizens. This is most commonly used as a basic model within e-government. A common platform is created between the government and citizens, which enables the citizens to benefit from a large range of public services such as online paying of bills, filing of FIR Licensing and registration, procurement and bidding, tax and fee payments, citizen help desk, public Information network, search property assessment values, property tax payments, Information about political processes, and services (“E-Governance.”). Through the use of ICT, government to citizens has been able to drastically improve the accessibility of these tools and services. The dealings between G2C have to be as transparent as they can be in order to ensure the most efficient type of services to the citizens. This allows for citizens to be able to have access to any government information and services at any time of the day. The primary purpose is to make the government citizen-friendly which is why citizens can now interact with the government through internet, fax, telephone, email, face-to-face, etc (“E-Governance.”).

Government to Business (G2B) is the relationship between institutions of public administration and enterprises. In this model the initiative comes from the government and businesses are the target group. It includes laws and regulations targeting businesses, official communications by government and regulatory agencies, tender processes etc. (“E-Governance.”). The E-Governance tools are used in order help the business community. The objective is to save time, reduce operational costs, increase revenues and to create a more transparent business environment when dealing with the government. The G2B is known for being transactional, such as in licensing, permits, procurement and revenue collection (“E-Governance.”). Other things that e-governance does for businesses are that they can effectively handle trades, tourism and investment opportunities. These measures help to provide a suitable environment to businesses and thus enable them to perform more efficiently. E-governance also helps businesses by saving them time, reducing cost, having transparent transaction deals, and by helping increase revenue.

According to the website of E-governance, “government to employees (G2E) involves giving and taking of information regarding diverse work assignments as may come from time to time, evolution of performance, management policy for personnel, training and development of employees, and career advice.” This interaction between government organization and employees happens on a regular basis. E-governance is the base of the exchange of information that happens between organizations and employees in order to insure that they receive maximum benefits. This e-governance interaction can even be vertical where the employees can give feedback to the businesses. Today through e-governance they can also have a look at their TDS and payroll status. According to the E-governance website, “it enables employees to access information regarding to pay, benefits, training, and as well as learning new work related skills.” E-governance also provides them with a common platform to remove their queries and thus giving an effective performance. Thanks to the use of ICT tools it has helped made these interactions fast, efficient, and has also contributed to the level of satisfaction of employees (“E-Governance.”).

Conclusion

In conclusion, e-governance is reforming in governance, facilitated by the creative use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and because of this, it is leading to better access to information and quality and services for citizens ("VSAT Solutions for E-Governance."). ICT is making timely and reliable information through governance, for example laws, rules, and procedures (Frank, B.& Regina, C.2012). ICT is also improving governance services by saving time, effort and money. E-governance is also managing to re-engineer business processes which help lead to simplification of complicated processes as well as weeding out of redundant processes ("VSAT Solutions for E-Governance."). This will result in major improvement between all four models (G2C, G2B, G2G, G2E), which is why more and more countries are turning to e-governance as more and more people continue to gain internet access. E-governance is a major technology tool because it allows easy communication with governments, which then leads to improvements to society, businesses, and the economy. This information and communication technology system has seen a rapid growth all over the world and as it continues to expand the technology will continue to improve with it.
