Promotion Strategies. Walgreens uses Electronic Media to convey its messages or deliver new information to customers. Creating a way to interact with customers is critical to the company when they are doing promoting. Right now, Walgreens is using social marketing such as Facebook where customers can share their thoughts and opinions and creating websites to raise people’ s awareness of this brand and their existence. Moreover, Walgreens has come up with another media service. Walgreens Media Recovery Service is a new program to help customers recover data from damaged media cards. The service attempts to restore media cards that are damaged or reformatted. It can also recover accidentally deleted photos. This increases Walgreens’ sales and customers’ loyalty. Another promotional mix strategy is push and pull strategy. Walgreens has already established a well-known brand in the market. So, Walgreens is now trying to get more customers, let customers to come to their stores to ask for products or services, and increase the “weight” of this brand in consumers’ mind.

Distribution Strategies. A strength of Walgreens distribution strategy is the use of radio frequency identification devices (RFIDs). By using these devices, Walgreens can track products from distribution centers to ensure that they are being sent to the right stores. Also, Walgreens use electronic pedigree system which This electronic pedigree system “…enhance[s] patient safety by providing a secure chain of custody record that traces a drug from manufacturer through wholesale distributor to pharmacy and preventing counterfeit product from getting into the legitimate pharmaceutical supply chain” (Bioengineering…, 2007, par. 5).
