- Place strategies

There are many place strategies that our group had applied for this business event. The main place strategy that we choose was placing our stall at the opposite site of the stairs. The opposite site of the stairs was very convenient for the customers and our business operation because it was a good business strategy to target the customers. When the students and lecturers walked up the stairs to Level 5, our stall was easily to see and attract customers, so that we could sell our products to target customers more efficiently and effectively. Furthermore, our stall was also placed near the classes at Level 5. This was also an ideal place for our group to start a business. We knew that this might let the students who just ended or had their classes could see our ‘Ms. Bean’ stall obviously. The students and lecturers who were hungry as they have not taken their breakfast yet would try to come to our stall. Then, the students and lecturers might have a look to our stall, ask and buy our products which were herbal leaf eggs and soya bean. Moreover, the vending machine which sold the variety of soft drinks was also placing near to our stall. For kindly information, the vending machine was not becoming the threats to reduce our turnover instead it helped us to sell some of our products. When some students wanted to buy soft drinks, we would kindly ask him or her to buy our soya bean drinks instead of soft drinks. We gave some advices to students so that they would not going to buy soft drinks as soft drinks would harm their stomach and health. By doing some of these explanations, the students might consider to buy our fresh and homemade soya bean drinks. On that day, one of the employee of the vending machine came and collected the profits of that machine, he also bought some of our herbal leaf eggs before went back. This means that the place strategy which was placing near the vending machine could helped us to sell our food and drink. Besides, our stall was placed besides the electric plug. Before that, our group member, Hui Yi and I had done a simple research on Level 5 to find the suitable place which could supply with the electric plug. When the business event was held, our group then choose the place which had comprised all the place strategies that stated. This was important to lead our group members could cook the herbal leaf eggs with the electric gas stove more effectively. For overall, there are four strategies for our group to make our business event to held successfully and smoothly.

5.2 Grace Ong Qiu Yu

On the first day of June,me and my group members are all prepared to sell soya bean and herbal leaf egg in INTI level 5.Everything is ready except for the herbal leaf tea.Although the eggs are cooked but we haven’t cooked it with the herbal leaf tea bag.The problem we were facing that day was quite serious as the the electric gas stove we brought is not functionable.After discussing with our group members,we decided to borrow gas stove from the canteen and cook on the spot.Fortunately,the aunty was friendly and willing to let us complete our final dishes.Among our group members,me and my another member,Yi Wen went downstairs to cook eggs whereas the other 3 members were setting up the stalls and started our business event.Everything went smooth and I am glad that our group members cooperate well and tolerate among each other.After the event ends,I think I should contribute more constructive opinions and plan the strategic well with my members to enhance our business event.I should also change my bad habit which is always do the last minute work and when the problems occurred ,we cannot solve them on time.I was also amazed by our teamwork which make this event possible and successful.

5.3 Khor Zhu Qi

1st June 2016 is a special day for me, because my group members and I had conducted a business event at level 5. On that day, we had arrived sooner than the starting business hour to prepare the ingredients and cooking equipment. The first problem we faced was the electric gas stove cannot function at all, we tried many times but we failed to cook the herbal leaf eggs. After discussion, we decided to borrow the gas stove to cook at the canteen. Problem we faced let me knew not all the plan will be conducted smoothly, but fortunately the canteen’s owner is very kind. Our group members, Yi Wen and Grace were cooking at the canteen while the other members and I were staying at the stall to sell soya drinks. Besides, we also faced problems on time management, that were wasting time on pricing and the food and beverage that we sold and cooking herbal leaf eggs on business hour. The third problem was money management. We had bought 2 packs of ices but we only used a pack of ices. Money was wasted as we did not plan the resources earlier and used it wisely. Furthermore, the pricing of our product was set too high. Although our homemade soya bean drinks were fresh enough, some students might think the price of RM3 for a drink was too high so our soya bean drinks were not sold completely. This was one of the problem of our group that set the drink’s price at higher cost. In the end, what I had learnt was we had to enhance our planning, money and time management skills so that our business event can be conducted more smoothly and successfully.
