For thick client, it is different with the thin client because thick client requires to have many codes to run. However, it has many functions and features, and it is also more expensive than thin client. In addition, using thin client will let the cloud based application has more cost effectiveness than the thick client.
The Amazon also can provide a server that names Elastic Load Balancing service for users in the highest demand or in the slack time. Elastic Load Balancing service can provide and allocate in the great accessing application traffic. While the traffic is high, the service will balance it by increasing the servers for users to access. Also, at the time that the traffic is slack, the Elastic Load Balancing service will decrease the servers that are using to save the company’s power.
In conclusion, Amazon is a company that have potentiality to develop in the online retailer service. The company can apply the Cost Focus competitive strategy and cloud computing to be cost effective and successful in the market. Also, the Sale and Marketing and Customer Service departments provide information about customers and competitors to let the company understand about them. In addition, the Server Farm, the Elastic Load Balancing service, and the thin and thick clients are important factors that can contribute to help the Amazon become a successful company in the internet retailer industry.
