Conservation groups within the state of Idaho are hoping for a similar victory because the wolf population in Idaho has significantly dropped 23 percent since the year of 2009. Instead of solely relaying of the use of hunters such as the state of Wyoming did, Idaho is actually using the help of professional sharpshooters and professional trappers to hunt down and kill the wolves. However these wolves that they are killing are in federal wilderness areas which indeed violates the Wilderness Act and that the Defenders meaning the conservation groups will use every resource available, including lawsuits, to pressure the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) to intervene in order to shut them down for good. The governor’s office and spokespeople for the Idaho Fish and Game department said that there are no plans to severely reduce the number of how many wolves are living in the state of Idaho but the legislators who created the new board have been perfectly clear about their motives. In a certain email that was sent to one of the Defenders representative there were comments about how it is in the best interests of the states of Idaho and its citizens to have the number of wolves reduced. The number of wolves the want it be is ten packs or around 100 individual wolves therefore meaning they would have to kill about 550 wolves or around 80 percent of the population of wolves in Idaho.

If you want to see a wild wolf, your best bet is to head to Yellowstone’s Lamar Valley in the late winter or early spring. A wolf does bring in a sense of wonder from their strength, family-centric society, and as flagships of wild nature. As humans it is our job to find a peaceful way to coexist because wolves should not be shot and killed. They’re majestic wolf and should be considered one of the most stunning creatures of the wild that nature has to offer this world and not a chilling killer. We need to be thankful that a miracle saved their numbers because a world without wolves isn’t a true world we should live in.
