BEGINNER LEVEL
Students with no prior knowledge or with very basic knowledge of yoga can start with learning basic forms of yoga. In basic/beginner category students can participate in any of the following:
- Gentle Yoga: This is the simplest of all forms of yoga, by definition it means physical yoga practice. This would include basic and classical approach to yogic breathing exercise and postures. [pic 5]
- Eight-limbed Yoga: This yoga focuses on synchronizing your breath and movement, which purifies your body. This technique is derived from the traditional style Asthanga. When practiced regularly will build core body strength and helps to tone up your body. [pic 6]
- Hot Yoga: This yoga needs a special setup and is practiced in a Sauna-like room. The heat is cranked up to nearly 105 degrees and 40 percent of humidity. It helps to clear one’s mind and relaxing body muscles. A series of 26 basic yoga postures are performed. If practiced regularly this will keep the internal organs, veins, and all the ligaments in good health.[pic 7]

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
Students already familiar with the basic forms of yoga that want to explore intense forms, which requires more precision and control in sequences can be part of our Intermediate program. The following forms of yoga are being taught in this program:

- Power Yoga: An active and athletic style of yoga adapted from the traditional ashtanga yoga to appeal to aerobic-crazed followers. In this style, you will be moving/flowing from one pose to the next. At Mantra yoga studio, other than starting with sun salutation, no two classes will be alike. As the pace in this yoga is maintained while moving from one asana to another, this is a physically demanding form of yoga, best suited for an ex-athlete or someone
looking to really push their body.
- Heartfelt Yoga: This style is also referred to as “the celebration of the heart” (Ward, 2013). At Mantra yoga studio, this is practiced with a sense of humor, instead of trying to fit everyone in cookie-cutter positions, students are guided to express themselves through their postures to their fullest ability. - Spiritual Yoga: This includes repeated movements and exercise, dynamic breathing techniques, chanting, meditation and mantras. Each specific exercise in this yoga is referred to as kriya and is a movement that is often repeated and is synchronized with the breath. This is designed to awaken the energy at the spine in order to draw it upward through each of the seven chakras. [pic 11]
- Yin Yoga: This is a slow-paced yoga but positions in this yoga are held for five minutes or longer. Although it is passive but it becomes challenging as positions need to be held for longer durations. If practiced regularly this helps in increasing blood circulation in joints and improves flexibility.[pic 12]
EXPERT LEVEL
Students with intermediate skills in yoga that want to climb the next ladder of expertise can get enrolled to this form of yoga. At Mantra yoga studio, this is being practiced with several variations.

- Props Yoga: This is the most Intense form of yoga, in this form, poses are held much longer than in other forms of yoga. More precision and closer attention is given to musculoskeletal alignment. At Mantra Yoga studio, we have various variations in this form by using props like blocks, chairs, belts, blankets etc. These props are used to accommodate injuries, tightness or structure imbalances and move into a correct structure.
