IBM Intelligent Transport product coupled with Intelligent Operations Center, city managers can gain a powerful, city-wide view of traffic, and importantly, how traffic can impact other city operations and services. This gives transportation authorities the ability to analyze traffic in real time, evaluate the implications of traffic conditions, and thereby better manage the flow of traffic in a city. This, in turn, can help reduce commute times, improve the commuter experience, reduce pollution, and direct emergency response and public safety teams to protect the safety and security of citizens. While the Intelligent Transportation product is directed at helping city managers and transportation authority’s understand historic and real-time traffic, IBM’s Traffic Prediction Tool extends their vision into the future to proactively manage traffic. As a companion module to the Intelligent Transportation product, the Traffic Prediction Tool uses the historic and real-time traffic data to predict the rates of traffic flow across a defined area between 10 and 60 minutes into the future. If current data is unavailable, then the product is able to model likely traffic flows by “filling in” the missing data using the Data Expansion Capability.

IBM Intelligent Transport Will Presents the

1.Current operational status of the traffic network graphically, in tabular view, offering vehicle, route and stop perspectives.

2.Graphical view will display events and incidents that occur on the traffic network that impact normal operation or are significant for operational management.

3.Provides insight into the key performance indicators of a traffic network that are related to travel time, average speed, and the number of congestions, accidents and closures.

By analyzing this whole data operator will dynamically change time of traffic signals, lane control signs and variable speed limit sign. Through insights operator will able creation of performance improvement plan and performance fine-tuning plans.

With help of IBM’s Traffic Prediction Tool operator will be able to Proactive management of traffic operations by using predictions of traffic speed and volume, up to an hour into the future.

And for commuter there will be mobile application that will provide time table of public transport, will give notifications about unusual incidents and special events.
