Accomplished its task in 1989, about 15 proposals such as turning it into a flying crew ship, flying hotel; with swimming pools and casinos in the lower deck, if converted to a commercial jet-liner it would carry 1500 passengers three times the carrying capacity of the US 737; 523passengers.

1991 the Soviet Union collapsed and lost financing everything was cancelled, [it carried 109 tones] citation needed. It stayed idle for 8 years.

RE-BIRTH.

After the crisis his company became a cargo lifting company using the remaining An-225 fleets left. The An – 124 was its sustainer due to its boom of The Antonov design bureau with larger load requests the company realized the An- 225 could fill the demand and carry mega-loads, but it was rusting. So the Antonov Design Bureau decided to return it back to the sky. After sitting idle for 8 years the mighty An-225 needed major repairs and restoration so, the original engineers were called upon to get it ready for resurrection.

Certification Problems.

Most of the systems had to be replaced by civilian parts; crew of 17. Replacement of all 6 engines was required

Any pilot can operate the plane, a wide palm would help crank up all 6 engines at once. It took a year to bring it back to life and it was ready for all 8 certification test flight, it cost 20 million dollars to upgrade.

April 2001 it took its second made in flight. It can carry cargo more than half a million pounds. 180fts long cargo hold it can swallow the entire fuselage of a Boeing 737 .they plan to do so by transporting cargos of such sizes. It can also carry cargos such as it did with the space shuttle. Designs are made to carry cargo too large for its internal cargo bay after its 8th made in flight it was certified for commercial certification. 13 years after, its ready for hauling cargo from anywhere in the world.
