WHAT THE SECURITY IMPLICATIONS ARE

As for the security, the guests are given free wifi access from TP-link router which goes with 1 mpbs ADSL. Company staff will use the hidden SSID name from MikroTik router which goes with 3 mpbs ADLS line and its password set with WPA2-PSK type. When we used MikroTik wireless router it also offer many layers of security such as Firewall. It can check the inbound or outbound packets, allowing or denying them. It also have access control list which filter the site that the staff can used.

HOW THE ABOVE CAN CHANGE COMPANY USAGE

WHAT CHANGES, BOTH POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE, MAY ARISE IN WORKING PRACTICE

After all the sytsem have been upgrade, let’s see about the changes. Positive things separate ADSL line for staff and guests which makes the company network more secure. And better security in wireless access since using hidden SSID name there won’t be any danger or vulnerable in wifi access and the router had firewall which check the network traffic for any suspicious packets. The staff will be able to focus on job if we block the social media site such as facebook, youtube by using access control list. Can easily add more computer since using 16 port switch and peer to peer network which is easy to install and maintain.

On the other hand, negative things are the drawback of peer to peer network. It is hard to administer since the whole network system is decentralized which means one person cannot determine the whole accessibility setting of the whole network system. Threat such as malwares, viruses, trojans can easily transmitted over this peer to peer network since it can’t withstand the internal attack. Each computer needs to back-up on its own system because data recovery or backup is very difficult on this type of network.
