eliminated that vulnerability.

The third and fourth operating systems that I will discuss will be Linux and UNIX. One of the major security flaws in recent memory that happened with Linux was the source code mistake. The error was made in GnuTLS library which is an open source software starting block that Linux uses which handles their secure Internet connections. By creating a specific type of fake certificate, an attacker could trick GnuTLS into accepting it as genuine, granting access to an otherwise-secure connection. This done, the intruder could monitor traffic flowing through the connection in plain text, and even interject code of his own, potentially opening further avenues of attack (Gold, 2014). The way that they went about getting these very scary issues fixed were by pushing patches to all users. This method is a very common way to rid operating systems of potential malware or anything else that might be considered as dangerous to the system. In conclusion, all of the different operating systems that are on the market has its pros and cons. Different vulnerabilities exist and as long as technology continues to change and become more advanced these are things that us users will have to deal with. It can be looked at as sort of a gift and a curse aspect. All companies have teams that are assigned to watch out for and if it still happens to fix issues, so that alone makes me feel better about utilizing these great technologies that we are using today.
