Moreover, being in different age groups will defiantly cause issues between the roommates because of having different points of view and different ways of thinking, such as, arguing about the rules of the place they live in; therefore, these arguments will not have any common sense between them and it is a big deal for both sides. Like if one of them is younger than the other and wants to stay up late or have some friends over, and the older one will think it’s annoying and it will cause a fight. In addition to that, having different interests causes conflicts too. A psychiatrist once talked about his daughter’s roommate in college that they had different interests so his daughter divided the room into two squares with a black tape on the floor also on the two opposite walls and on the ceiling! So having different interests will cause issues (neuman, 2014). They won’t be able to do anything together and it will be boring. For instance : if the older one likes watching movies a lot and wants the place quite while the younger likes wild music and noisiness. Also, dissimilar age groups will the relationship with the roommate and it will basically make it worse.

In conclusion, roommates may not get along because of four main reasons: different cultures and traditions, dissimilar majors, unlike life styles and different age groups. These reasons usually face all roommates around the world; however, it should not stay along in their life, so in my opinion to overcome those problems that faces roommates regularly, there have to be some concessions from both roommates to ignore each other small mistakes. Also, to put some excuses for each other and they should find some time to talk. According to (relationship, 2011) identifying any problem that faces roommates will help them before they get into a larger issue, so they can live in peace. Therefore, they can figure out their differences and deal with it to enjoy their days together.
