Research Methodology

In as much as several studies have only focused in the use of computer-assisted learning, this study will induct a study on the use of iPads in enhancing the process of learning, an aspect that will specifically determine the effectiveness, learner control, level of the students engagement and the nature of feedback in the process of learning (Chen, et.al.2013). In achieving the goals of this study, data was collected with the aim of generating single effect size estimation. The descriptors of the studies sample were coded and included academic level participants such as the graduates, high school and college students. On the other hand the sample populations of this study were required to have an experience in the use of iPads in class work before the intervention.

Research Design

The study ensured that its research design was coded in a dichotomous manner that included the units of assessments to different conditions. This required a group of participants to be assigned into a treatment group and the entire class assigned to a treatment condition. Additionally, the study also incorporated a random approach in selecting the research participant who had an experience in the use of iPads in learning and in teaching (Kretschmann, 2015). Lastly, the documentation of data was considered, an approach that compared between the two groups to establish the impact of using iPads in enhancing the process of learning.

Effect Size Measures

The data requires in calculating the effects sizes was recorded through the use of standards deviation and the mean method. Besides recording the effect size of the study, a record of confidence rating for the study was included to determine the studies estimated effect size. In this case, the rated extents in the sizes estimated were based in a high estimate, minimal data collected and a sufficiency in the data collected (Kretschmann, 2015). The effect sizes were then computed through the use of a standardized mean difference effect on the sizes (d)

Ethical and Diversity Issues that May Arise In the Study

In establishing the element of ethical and diversity issues in this study, it is significant to ensure that the participants in the study provide their consent in order to engage in the study, thus depicting the ethical consideration of the research (Kretschmann, 2015). Secondly, it is likely that the participants placed in different treatment groups may represent different matters thus requiring the inclusion of subgroups in analyzing the results of the study.

The representation of diversity may be experienced in instances where the participants reside from different backgrounds and may face several problems such as linguistic and cultural competencies including minimal resources that disadvantage them from the use of iPads in learning (Daher, & Lazarevic, 2014). The best approach in ensuring that the participants are all represented in the study is through allowing proliferation in the study, thus stipulating these representations in samples.

Data Collection

In this study, it is essential to note that both the qualitative and qualitative approaches are employed. The use of iPads in a classroom is considered as the treatment group while the traditional method of teaching is considered as the control group. The study used questionnaires and surveys in collecting data. The participants were required to fill the questionnaires and surveys which were sent on email.

Limitations of the Study

The metal Analysis by Hattie (2009) clearly establishes the efficiency of computer-based learning tools in enhancing the process of learning. In initiating this in the study, focus in not drawn on the tools that are associated in the achievement of learning outcomes through the use of iPads (pp.64). This study therefore expounds on the previous work by primarily focusing on iPads that would result in effective learning especially by increasing the learner’s engagement within the process of learning and the nature of feedbacks received.

Data Analysis and Results

In analyzing the data, it was established that the effect size depicted of 0.33 demonstrates that the use of iPads was efficient in assisting the teachers and students in learning, an aspect that is more effective than the traditional lecture methods. Under the assumption that the distribution between the participants placed in treatment groups has an effect size of 0.33, a clear indication was established thus determining that 70% of students receiving instructions through the use of iPads received greater learning as compared to the average students who received instructions through the traditional methods (Daher, & Lazarevic, 2014). Alternatively, a single average student’s who receive instructions through the use of iPads statistically demonstrated that they have a greater chance of achieving quality education as compared to 80% of other students who receive traditional instructions on the same material. In this case, the use of iPads in learning has the capacity to provide a cost efficient, modest and meaningful impact in learning.

Secondly the study provided evidence that the anticipated secondary education schools that will primarily be linked to the post-secondary education institution are efficient in increasing the academic performances of the students. This is in consideration of the fact that the amount of time spent in the course of learning will be increase, thus increasing the performance levels of the learners. The d difference established of 1.99 (90% CI that ranges from 1.03 to 2.95) indicated the effect of time as an essential element in the process of learning (Arnold, 2011).This clearly indicates that the use of iPads in enhancing the process of learning plays a significant role for the graduate and high school students. The charter process will consequently incorporate the use of technology in initiating rigor among the high school students as well as the regular college courses.

Discussion

As discussed, it is important to ascertain that previous studies have made considerable suggestions that effective learner-centered approach that involves feedbacks and interactivity are some of the benefits that can be achieved when the use of technology is incorporated in the process of learning. In this case, the use of technology will be efficient in enhancing the process of learning within the institution. Teachers will be required to incorporate
