In the play Bocon many macro-level societal have an effect on the relationships in the play. In the play the government plays a huge role on how people live. The government is corrupt in San Juan de la Paz. People fear the soldiers. Above I told you how in the play they said how god made Adam into three people using his body. He made the poor, the arms, the soldiers, the feet and the rich or government the head. It is explained that the poor man is to do the rich man’s work and the soldiers are only used to kick or abuse the poor people. Although the soldiers are the ones abusing the poor they are not the root of the problem the corrupt government is. The government is corrupted and bad things happen and if the people talk about it they face consequences like Miguel’s family faced with his parent’s being taken away. This leads into the micro-level family relationships and how the lifestyle Miguel faces affects them. Like I said people can be taken away if you even speak out about it. This causes distress in children because they are scared. The play showed that the children aren’t scared of the little things that they should be scared of any more like La Llorona. Kids’ innocence is being taken away because their safety is being threatened.
I personally know a lot of people who either came here from their mainland or families have come and I feel like immigrants should be accepted more willingly. When Miguel was in front of the court he made a good point. He compared himself to the judge’s family that had been immigrants and explained that he was like them and just trying to make it. I feel that if immigrants want to make their lives better why not give them a chance. Miguel said that if the judge sends him back then he will keep coming. No matter what, if someone wants to make their family better they are going to do what it takes.
