While the radiation may be helping the deep Human tissue, the superficial tissue could be irritated or even burned, along with a (potential) long-term effect of damaged salivary glands.
Earlier i stated that there is no cure for this ailment, but there are treatments given to the patient to help subdue the side effects. The side effects of radiation sickness include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness and a drop in blood cell counts. The effects cannot be reversed, so depending on the symptoms, the patient will will be tended to with proper medication to put the side effects at ease. This particular illness is very rare due to amount of individuals who have come in contact with it. The best way to avoid radiation sickness, or radiation in general, would be to keep a safe distance from X-ray machines, be mindful of what machinery you are exposing yourself to, and wear all safety gear if necessary or required.
In conclusion radiation has its benefits as well as consequence, the most common being Radiation sickness. Living in the world today, one big factor in the medical treatment for all sicknesses is technology. Technology has allowed us to recognize radiation sickness, and although there is no cure, has helped us to develop treatment courses to help patients. There may be no cure today, but because of the world’s technological advances, that is sure to change in the days to come.
