The group goes out for their tour. The men on the road living in hotels, and bonding on the tour bus, as they are living limited space. The third concept is Communication in close relationships. Friendship is a companionship that is intentional and for common loyalty. No family is on tour with them. Their friendship is tested. There isn’t a balanced exchange. During this time, Easy is the one that officially has a contract and when subject is brought up Easy doesn’t stand up for his friends. Cube loses confidence that the rest of them will get contracts as he sees Easy and Jerry enjoying wine and lobster.

The FBI sends a letter stating they are not to play F Tha Police anymore. The group is now more famous, but not how they expected. This brings me to the fourth concept of Perception. Because of what they choose to express in their lyrics, the interpretation of them is “gang bangers.” Because they write about their experiences they are assumed to be bad people. Their occupation are rappers and some people don’t perceive that as form of art.

N.W.A is told by Detroit Police if they play that song they will be arrested. That does not stop them. They believe it is in their rights as freedom of speech to say what they want. They begin the song and in the middle gun shots are fired, and the groups runs their bus where the cops are waiting to arrest them. After they are released Jerry offers Cube his contract. Cube is iffy about the contract and jerry gets upset when Cube wants to take it to lawyers. He learns everyone else has signed. Cube leaves the group to go solo and does well. Suge convinces Dre to have his contract looked at too. Ice Cube felt Jerry was keeping money from the group. Dre expresses his concern to E about Jerry. Easy feels loyalty to Jerry, allowing Dre to walk away. Dre feels hurt that Easy blind and willing to let him go. Dre hooks up with Suge Knight at Death Row Records, as he is no longer a body guard and a talent manager. Suge beats up Easy E to get Dre’s contract from Ruthless. Dre eventually leaves Death Row to have his own company he names Aftermath.

It’s now 1993, Easy E isn’t doing so well on his own. Dre and Cube’s careers just keep getting better. Easy is having to downsize his houses, back to selling weed for money, and seems to be coughing a lot. Easy sees Cube at club and goes to talk to him. They make amends, discuss a reunion, and Cube stipulates as long as no Jerry. Easy has his girlfriend look over his contract and his paperwork from Ruthless Records. He realizes Dre and Cube had been right about Jerry. Bringing to the fifth concept of Conflict. Easy is faced with the conflict of having to confront Jerry about this. He saw Jerry as loyal and even father figure like. At first Jerry is passive aggressive. He tells him if what he did was illegal why has he not been put in jail for it. He uses the excuse that its business. Easy is hurt because he thought their relationship was more than business. Because of how Easy is talking at him, Jerry turns to direct aggressive. He comments how easy sleeps around and reminds Easy he has no college degree. Easy fires Jerry and walks out his house. I think competition was the conflict style used because they both tried to get the other to see their side.

N.W.A is about to reunite when Easy collapses and is told he has HIV. He is given six months to live. Former members of N.W.A all visit Easy at the hospital. When Cube arrives Easy is in a coma and Cube does not want to remember him that way. At the age of 31, rapper Easy-E dies from AIDS.

The movie ends mosaic of the real members and their present careers. Dr. Dre fulfills his dream of being successful in the music business along with selling his Beats to Apple and known for the birth of music stars Eminem and 50 Cent. Along with music Ice Cube has become a movie producer and movie star. MC Ren and DJ Yella didn’t quite get a career past N.W.A

I picked this movie because while I do homework, it’s a movie my son watches. There have been times while reading my text book and thought some of these would fit perfect in what I am reading. Also I can’t say much has changed with how society treat certain people of certain socioeconomic status, race. Also friendship how can be strong one day and gone the next. SOC brings the reality of racism and broken friendships to your door, although some try to turn a blind eye to them, this is just a few of street kids’ reality of the truth as they see it happening right out their front door.
