about the consequences of not keeping our promise to hand over Ho Tim Hall at 22:15. Also we have to give the greatest gratitude to hall mates who helped clear up Ho Tim Hall, and at the same time an apology to Stargazer and audience of the performance for the disturbance caused at the back.

We have sent our apology to Lady Ho Tung Hall for our 15-minute delay in handing over Ho Tim Hall. We believed that the incident did not break our friendly relationship and the delay did not affect their Orientation Camp programme. Cooperation and communication between the two halls will continue as usual. We are now compromising the use of Ho Tim Hall in September like our previous practice. We will try our very best to keep our promise with Lady Ho Tung Hall and other halls, to maintain the credibility and positive image of Starr Hall.

We would also like to make use of this chance to apologize to the Hall Management Team and our Honorable Guest for any disrespectful behaviour. After all, it is our responsibility to educate hall mates of the basic respect they shall maintain in High Table Dinner.

It is somehow indisputable that High Table Dinner is a formal occasion with due respect. It should be made clear to all hall mates from the first High Table Dinner and from now and then. Although sadly, it is observable that violation of regulations and disrespectful acts is found even in regular High Table Dinners, from making noise, not listening to guest speakers, using electronic devices to leaving the seats for photo-taking and rushing before the stage waiting for performances when the guests and tutors are still in the venue, it does not rationalize itself or make us let go of the insistence towards the formality and basic sense of respect.

The same applies to Freshmen High Table Dinner. It is true that flexibility is allowed and some extent of informality is tolerated, but it does not imply hall mates can be excused from maintaining the basic sense of respect and upholding the formality of High Table Dinner. Finally, it is a good opportunity for us to reinstate the importance to be self-disciplined and adhere to High Table Dinner regulations. All hall mates, no matter freshmen or hall mates who have been living for years, should bear in mind what ought to and what ought not to be done in High Table Dinner, and which kinds of behaviour are deemed and deemed not respectful, to behave well as university students and Starrians.
