A scoring card is another tool that can be used by the organization as means of making sure that the project makes a financial sense to those who are involved in it. Various variables have to be employed when it comes to determining the manner in which the project should survive and at the same time increase the chances of it being successful. The weight system of importance that is contained in the tool is critical when it comes to making sure that the priority of the project has been enhanced. A SWOT analysis should also be undertaken to determine the kind of challenges that the project management team has to tackle depending on the priority that the project is given (Mbohwa, 2015). The project must also make sense to the prospective cost as means of determining its viability and at the same time the impact that it will have on the financial performance of the organization.

Case Scenario

An example of a fictious scenario at the D.D. Williamson is when the organization is going through restructuring and change has to be achieved in the process. On the other hand, employees still remain poorly trained when it comes to handling challenges that are likely to arise from the process of change and therefore need a complete overhaul of the manner in which structures are designed. Success in the project planning process needs to be realized only when employees are well trained and understand the role that they have to complete in the project. A project has to be planned, initiated and thereafter executed through strategies that enhance performance within the industry and at the same time increase the needed support.

Projection and speculation

The question as to whether D. D. William will still be using the same process within the next five years depends on a number of variables. The current process does not yield results and there is need therefore to make sure that a system has been developed which meets the demands. They are likely to continue with the assessment of past projects as means of understanding whether they have any impact on the organization structures and decision making. In future, the organization is supposed to be not too complacent when it comes to understanding their business model and the manner in which systems are structured.
