that he started to only really paint in blue, some people think blue was the way he felt, or because it was the only color he could actually see. ‘‘I no longer perceived colors with the same intensity. I no longer painted light with the same accuracy. Reds appeared muddy to me, pinks insipid, and the intermediate and lower tones escaped me.’’ While he found out about his cataract, his second wife Alice and son Jean had both died right before his diagnosis, meanwhile world war one was just in the beginning. All of these things happening led to Monet ceasing his paintings. One of Monet’s friends encouraged him to create a painting to get him and the country gloomy stage. Monet eventually said yes and named it ‘the great decoration’. Monet finally got the chance to surgically remove his cataracts. He ended painting water lilies again right before his death on december 5th, 1926. Claude Monet went through many obstacles in his life, but they never stopped him, even at his lowest lows he moved on. Although Monet was greatly inspired by his flowers, he was also inspired by the painter named Eugene Boudin, who was a landscape artist. There are many other great things I could tell you about Claude Monet but all I can say is what a wonderful artist and man he was. Monet went through a lot in his lifetime, and his work and himself will never be forgotten, even years to come.
