of having something stuffed up my nose. It was bright outside when I woke up, I felt a strange feeling that I never felt before. It was the feeling of real pain, I was crying when I first woke up. It was awful, I don’t know why this surgery gave me so much more pain then the first surgery. My face swelled so much that it looked like I had a tennis ball in my mouth.
Finally, I was released to go home. I was happy though, it was strange that I was happy even though It was painful. I couldn’t smile, laugh, frown, or talk as much. The face that I had

for 4 days was a blank face. I think the reason I was happy when I got home was because that this was the last surgery I had to go through.
The doctor put me on a diet where I couldn’t eat anything for the next three months. My choices were ramen noodles protein shakes, and other soft, liquid foods. I hated that I couldn’t eat anything I usually ate like crackers, garlic bread, and much more. I can’t say that I didn’t try to eat anything that I liked because I did try to sneak some food because of the cravings I had. Still, I tried to stop myself from eating hard foods because I could break my jaw easily like from eating a chip.
I was not allowed to participate in any school sports or PE for 6mo. I lost 20 pounds due being mainly on a liquid diet. The part of my jaw bone that was removed took almost a year to grow back. It took me months to gain the weight back that I lost. I am so happy I fully healed from everything and am back to normal. I hope that I never have to experience anything like that in my life again.
