Actions are being taken to stop activities in cricket such as lifetime or temporary ban from cricket, imprisonment of the guilty one, fining the culprit and many more. In August 2010, Mohammad Asif (Pakistani bowler) had deliberately bowled no-balls during Pakistan's 2010 tour of England in return for payment from a betting syndicate, a practice known as spot-fixing (News of the World ). Similarly, in 2013, three Indian players, Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila, and Ankeet Chavan were arrested on the charges of spot-fixing in IPL (BBC NEWS). Those three players were found guilty after three years when Mohammed was found guilty. These actions showed that rules have been regulated for a long time but have not been effective as they should have been because the Indian board and the IPL should have prevented those issues before they happened. Corrupted personnel and authorities in cricket councils is also the reason behind the ineffectiveness of the rules, which were formed to make cricket free from issues. Effective rules should be formed and applied to every individual, including players, coaches, team owners, and board members to stop these issues in cricket.

Cricketing board and council should appoint wise and responsible personnel, who can reform the rules and regulate them efficiently in cricket to prohibit issues created by the money. The boards are responsible to improve the quality of cricket rather than being found guilty for the corruption, which is making the improvement of cricket more difficult. The normal people involved in the cricket community can also play their part to improve cricket by not involving in small level betting. They can motivate their supporting team and player by encouraging them to perform well and show their trust to them, which can prevent players from being involved in illegal betting. People can also help to develop cricket by filing the petitions against the unfair games which were alleged for fixing. There is existence of sports due to their fans. If there are no fans there won't be any sports. Similarly, if ordinary people start to boycott cricket due to scandals then cricket will suffer from the heavy loss. There will be the drop in merchandise sales, match spectators, and source of motivation. So for the sake to prevent people from avoiding cricket, boards will do their best to make cricket problem free.

People want entertainment and sports is one of the biggest doses of entertainment right now. Sports have the power to motivate people. Sports have also made many dreams come true. Sports have the power to unite people. The issues like match-fixing, corruption, betting, and tax fraud have affected the lives of people both directly and indirectly. Corruption in the cricket board of a particular team and country can lead to giving chances to players who are unworthy of the chance they are given. Many talented and hardworking individuals are discouraged from such activities. Issues raised in cricket can affect the government of the country also. Tax fraud done by the team leads to the decrease of national wealth, which can also hamper developmental activities of a particular country. If caught red hand for being the culprit of match-fixing and betting, players and team associates can get a lifetime ban from cricket. Betraying friends and country for a small amount of money can destroy the fame and status they built in their lifetime. Same goes for cricket fans. Frauds and scandals remove faith and support of fans from the teams and players. This was also the reason many people stopped watching cricket for these reasons. These issues in cricket are declining the sportsmanship factor of cricket. This beautiful sport is losing its touch slowly and becoming biased.

To sum up, the rise of cricket has a long history. From a game played for fun and entertainment to the second most popular sport in the world, cricket has developed gradually. Though cricket is not popular in the United States, it is the national sport of two big nations (England and Australia). The issues caused by money such as corruption, match-fixing, betting, and tax fraud are making the image of cricket look dirty. The legal committees and other third-party agencies are taking actions against those issues but they are not effective and they are not able to make cricket problem free and these problems are observed frequently over the years. These problems should be solved otherwise the rise of cricket will soon be the downfall. Involvement of money has brought many reforms in cricket, which helped cricket to improve its standard and compare its quality with other international sports such as soccer and basketball. People attached and related to this beautiful game should be aware of these illegal activities and should help to make cricket free from these issues. More effective laws should be created and should be initiated to make cricket free from these issues. The Council should be more cautious and appoint wise people, who can make the difference in the cricket and make this sports glorious once again. Let’s hope in future cricket will retain its image and the standard of cricket will improve.
