Employees respect ongoing and frequent communication, yet judging by how Westwood currently conveys information to it’s employees, it definitely needs some updating and lacks a real personal touch. I would advise Cassidy to perform a communication audit to assess the effectiveness of the communication efforts and also take some time to have temperature checks. This would allow him to create an infrastructure to constantly engage the employees and make them feel valued. Also hosting monthly or quarter meeting whether its by way of teleconferences or group sessions would help enrich Westwood’s internal communication system, making sure the staff is always up to date and current on company happenings. Even to go as far as to have company publications or create printed communications to help discuss important events and accomplishments throughout the entire company - also reaching those without email access. All and all, I think Westwood Publishing is on the right track to wanting to provide clear and concise information to its employees while maintaining a positive outlook. With a bit of creativity and using its current resources, the internal communication function will become more effective, benefiting both the employer and employee.
