The emission of greenhouse gases (GHGs) threatens human health and welfare by leading to long-lasting changes in our climate. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is the primary greenhouse gas pollutant. Fossil fuel-fired electric generating units are by far the largest emitters of GHGs, primarily in the form of CO2, among stationary sources. On the other hand, WTE is introducing the new technology to produce electricity with less harming to environment. This is the major key element of WTE. EPS should focus on Green energy groups and also the groups that will be effected by the power plan. For example :

Environmentalist

According to EPS research, The WTE system produces less than 25% of the amount of ash that traditional coal burning plants produce and the tree ash does not contain the dangerous levels of toxic chemicals found in coal ash.

Government Agency

Licensing is one of the issue. Each country or state have different policy depends on their regulation. For example, in U.S., they have Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) who is establishing final emission guidelines for states to follow in developing plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Targeted Community

GHG emissions impose costs on society, such as negative health and welfare impacts. If a fossil fuel-fired electricity producer pollutes the atmosphere when it generates electricity, this cost will be borne not by the polluting firm but by society as a whole. In contrast, EPS can provide much wiser choice to the community.

c) Promotional methods or media should EPS use to reach each segment ?

Environmentalist

- Launch the “clean-energy” campaign and invite the environmentalists. Provide information about this retrofit technology.

Government Agency

- Use a lobbying strategy (legally) to persuade key government officials to offer incentives to existing utility companies to convert to WTE or issue the license for the electrical utility companies to implement WTE.

Targeted Community

- Provide scholarships for children who interest in Environmental Study

- Offer job opportunity to community

- Launch “grow tree together” campaign to let locals utilize the resources and EPS could use the resources from locals.
