From the story above, we can see that the Chinese tourists are lack of cultural intelligent as well as those Japanese. I think, when the situation there was happening, both Japanese and Chinese not really accepted on culture matter that they met. Besides that, both of the parties are mindlessness as they can’t think on others perspective but only follow their own culture.

CQ, basically known as cultural intelligence refers to the ability of an individual in interacting with others who are in different culture. It is also an ability to generate adequate behavior in new cultural that makes CQ become unique. There are 3 components of CQ which involved knowledge, mindfulness and behavior as they are combined to produce the effective interaction ability across cultures. In order to develop CQ, social learning is suggested to be used. Experience from social life means paying attention to and appreciating critical differences in culture and background between each other. Knowledge is required regarding the ways to differ the cultures and how cultures affect behavior.

Therefore, regarding to the issue mentioned earlier, both Chinese and Japanese should have mindfulness by having openness on accepting something new to them which are the culture that they do not know and think on people’s perspective but not their owns. Chinese tourists with mindfulness should respect and think on Japanese culture perspective as their behavior is not accepting by Japanese. To be honest, those Chinese tourists really low in cultural intelligence and they should research before travel in Japan since Japan is a well-known of country on polite. At the same time, even though the behavior is not really suiting their culture, the Japanese should accept and think on their perspective, and if offended, they should forgive the tourists as the tourists are not familiar with and know their culture well.
