• What value does collaboration have during your interview?

Collaboration is the act of communicating and working together. To have a successful helping relationship involves collaboration. Collaboration proves that the helpee is cooperative with the helper because the helpee feels that the helper understands him or her and feels a connection with the helper. A collaborative relationship also institutes that both the helper and helpee are working toward the same goal and are comfortable with the counseling process and the help of the helper (Stewart & Cash, 2014).

• How do you identify the most effective objective(s)?

Identifying the most effective object entails implementing goals that can be achieved, agreed upon by both client and helper, and is best suited to meet the need or solve the client's problem or situation.

• What are some objectives that would support the identified goal?

Some objectives that would support the identified goal include simple and straightforward, measurable, achievable, and realistic actions. For instance, in the case scenario, the client can begin taking his children to professionals and use other counseling and educational resources that can help his children's developmental delays. Also, objectives are understood by the client, reachable and can be measured for progress (Omg.ny.gov, n.d.). For the client in the case scenario, a clear understanding of the help needed for his children and the best available resources and how to implement them, would be useful in supporting the goal of helping his children with their developmental delays.
