They make everything inside their control and create the customer loyalty to them, in the future, if the guest wants to book the same hotel, he is likely to book again via agoda. This kind of strategy can bring more customer loyalty to the webpage however at the same time raise the cost of human.
Expedia: once customer makes the reservation, he will receive the hotel contact info and hotel also gets the contact details of the customer. It makes both sides easily get in touch with each other in case any thing happens such as guest wants to change the date, special request, or hotel wants to give guests different types of room or offer more package….
This strategy saves Expedia human cost however they face a risk of losing extra profit: if guest wants to extend their stay, they might ask hotel directly, or in the future when booking again the same hotel, he might compare the price directly with the hotel first. Or if any booking amendment made, Expedia cannot control.

Agoda: their main plan now is to provide more types of service, partner with “largest and reputable companies” to become bigger together and create various packages.
Expedia: they plan to expand to Asia area, as it is an emerging market and expects to have more millennials. Their current strategy is merge and acquisitions, buying the smaller OTA to get more market share.
