Those two alternatives are way better and have no unethical consequences.

As I said before, I would without thinking twice, have all the chocolates taken to the dump. I truly understand that the most important goal of a company is to make money, but sometimes-complex situations arise, which makes it a little bit more difficult. Personally, I would explain my action to Goody Glad and to a senior executive by telling them that long-term profits outweigh short term ones. In other words selling infested chocolates to the less fortunate could destroy the company reputation or bring even greater losses then the $12,000 chocolate loss. Moreover, selling or giving away products that we know are not good is immoral. I would also ask them how would they react if they were given infested chocolates? If you know you wouldn’t be happy then, don’t do it to others just because they are poor and are used to those eating conditions. In conclusion, never do to others what you would not want them do unto you.

This situation is clearly an ethical dilemma because Marjorie has to make the best decision not just to do what she believes is right but to also do what's right for everyone in term of whichever decision she decides to make will be for the wellbeing of all the person concerned by this situation including the community, the shareholders and the consumers to cite a few.
