4. My overall nutrition and activity habits can definitely use some improvements. Two healthy habits that I possess now are: 1. I bike, walk, basically use my legs whenever possible rather than driving, and 2. I prefer and cook my own meals when possible. Two areas I can improve on are: 1. Plan my meals earlier in advance. This will help regulate what I’m putting in my body exactly and may help eliminate some of the excessive dietary numbers, and 2. Better regulate my nutritional values, as before I would eat until I wasn’t hungry anymore. These two areas, if improved, could help me to consume the proper amount of calories for my activities. This will also help with weight maintenance and also help eliminate some of the risks associated with over indulging on nutrients. Of course, both these things go hand-in-hand but they are extremely important to maintaining not just a healthy diet, but a proper one as well. As we learned and reviewed in the text from this course and from the material we have consumed, all this theory ties in with overall wellness of the individual. An individual needs to properly consume foods and nutrition along with an active lifestyle in order to be at their best, their most “well.” All of these nutrients work together to enable your body to do what it needs to do, with the energy required to do it, so with improving on these aforementioned areas and continuing to be active, it will improve my immediate and future well being.
